TREAT THE SEALED UNDERSIDE SURFACE AS LOW POROSITY
Ultra-Block will reduce the porosity of the underside sealed surface. Please contact your adhesive supplier or manufacturer for specifcation of the appropriate adhesive suitable for installing low porosity/dense surfaces. Sealed underside surface and substrate should be thoroughly wet out with the adhesive (back butter using the flat side of trowel) prior to applying adhesive with appropriate notch trowel to ensure proper coverage and adhesion. Follow adhesive manufacturer recommendation for the appropriate adhesive & ensure relevant Standards for stone & tile installation are followed.

DESCRIPTION: Ultra-Block is an economical, Low VOC, water based, installation sealer. Ideal for six sided sealing, dip-sealing, underside sealing and pre-grouting sealing. Helps consolidate stone and make grouting easier. Reduces picture framing, efflorescence, mineral blooming, staining during grouting and adhesive blotch marks which are normally absorbed through the back of  the stone during installation. Ideal for all natural stone including bluestone, marble, sandstone, travertine plus terracotta, terrazzo, encaustic tiles etc

STAIN PROTECTION: For best stain resistance against oil, food, grease and grime, after installation and grouting apply Aqua-Seal Gold+® for a natural look or Enhance’N’Seal for a colour enhanced look. Do NOT use Ultra-Block on top surface if Enhance’N’Seal will be your final sealer.

TEST FIRST: Always test first in an inconspicuous area to determine ease of application, dilution rate, colour stability & desired results. End user must determine suitability of product for their own use.

PRECAUTIONS & SAFETY DIRECTIONS: 

1. Read entire label, SDS and technical bulletin before using;  

2. Wear appropriate gloves, skin and eye protection;  

3. Use when surface temperature is between 4°C & 32°C;

4. Surface must be clean, dry and free from sealers and coatings;

5. Avoid Ultra-Block contact with the top surface if you intend to use an enhancing type sealer or a coating;

6.  Apply only ONE (1) coat of Ultra-Block if six sided sealing;

7. Do NOT saturate the open grout joints;

8. If using a dark or contrasting grout, apply Grout Release Pro before grouting and only after Ultra-Block has cured.

PREPARATION OF SURFACE: Use XtremeClean+ or StoneWash+ to clean and prepare stone before sealing.

INSTRUCTIONS – PRE-SEALING:

1.  Apply sealer to clean, dry surface using a sealer applicator, pump sprayer, sealer sponge, brush, paint roller or paint pad;

2. Ensure even coat & coverage then work product in thoroughly;

3. After 5-10 minutes, wipe the surface COMPLETELY DRY with absorbent paper or cotton towels to remove any excess;

4. DO NOT ALLOW PRODUCT TO DRY ON THE SURFACE;

5. Allow to cure minimum 24 hours before installation or grouting;

INSTRUCTIONS – DIP-SEALING/SIX SIDED-SEALING:

1.  Fill  a clean tray with Ultra-Block and fully submerge stone or tile for 30 seconds to 2 minutes – (the longer the better);

2. After 5-10 minutes, wipe the surface COMPLETELY DRY with absorbent paper or cotton towels to remove any excess sealer; 

3. DO NOT ALLOW PRODUCT TO DRY ON THE SURFACE;

4. If sealing prior to installation, lean sealed stone vertically against wall. Place a plastic wedge or spacer between each piece so the  tiles are not touching therefore allowing a gap of 5-10cm between each tile for air circulation and proper curing.

5. Allow to cure minimum 24 hours before installation or grouting;

6. After 24 hours and before installation, scrub back surface of stone with a white nylon pad or brush to remove any sealer residue.

LIMITATIONS: Sealer is NOT a waterproofing agent and will NOT prevent surface wear or etching from harsh or acidic chemicals. For best stain resistance against oil, food, grease and grime, use a premium Sealers Plus final sealer e.g. Aqua-Seal Gold+®;

COVERAGE: Approximately 1-160m2 per 4 litre per coat. It will vary depending if six sided sealing or only top surface pre-sealing, also on the density, porosity, texture and absorption. HANDLING, STORAGE & CLEAN UP: Close container tightly after each use; Store in original container between 4°C & 32°C. Shelf life is approx 3 years in unopened container – less after opening; Storage beyond that time does not necessarily mean the product is not usable.  Do a small test area first; Do not re-use container. Discard in rubbish; Clean tools & clothing with water before they dry.

FIRST AID: Contact a doctor or Poisons Information Centre (Aust 131-126, NZ 0800 764 766). Inhalation: First aid not generally required. Ingestion: Do NOT induce vomiting. Give water to drink. Eyes: Immediately flush eyes with clean, running water for at least 5 minutes and see a doctor. Skin: Wash gently with plenty of water.
